Empresa Siderurgica del Peru SA (SIDERPERU) is a Peru-based company principally engaged in the iron and steel industry, as well as in the mining sector. The Company's activities include the production, distribution and sale of cast iron ingots, plain and not-plain iron products, laminated and recoated steel, cold-rolled steel tubes and pipes, construction bars, steel bobbins galvanized frayed metal plates, naval metal plates and bars for metal grinding, among others. The Company's products are mainly used on the construction, industrial and mining sectors. In addition, the Company owns facilities intended for the performance of its activities located in the city of Chimbote and Lima. As of December 31, 2011, Gerdau SA was the Company's majority shareholder with 86.66% of its interest.
