Societe Internationale de Plantations d'Heveas is engaged principally in the production and marketing of natural rubber. The processed rubber comes from factories located in Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria or Liberia and is obtained from rubber latex produced either in plantations owned by Co., independent farmers or local farmers. Co. is also engaged in other activities like marketing of natural products like cottonseed meals, palm oil and sugar. In addition, Co. is engaged in the supply of agro-industrial materials and products. Co.'s principal customer is the tire industry. As of Dec. 31, 2012, Co. had produced 250,000 tons of rubber, making up more than 50% of the total African production.
