First presented at NAB 2018, Emerald Unified 4K KVM is a unique KVM matrix switching solution that supports HD and 4K video at 60 Hz and 10-bit color depth, enabling pixel-perfect 4K image transmission with mathematically lossless compression, as well as transparent USB 2.0 and bidirectional audio. With Emerald, users no longer have to choose between IP-based or proprietary signal transmissions, as the platform supports mixed networks. The solution also provides full support for virtualized IT environments, enabling connectivity for any combination of physical and virtual servers within a single KVM network. This gives operators a smooth and easy migration path to virtualization. The Emerald KVM platform offers virtual machine support for VMware®, Microsoft® and Citrix® using RDP/RemoteFX and PCoIP. This enables users to scale operations at their own pace across buildings, campuses and wide area networks, while using their existing network infrastructure. It also gives users the ability to switch between sources at speeds of less than a second using IP or faster in a direct-connect matrix.
