CLS Receives New CPT® Reimbursement Code Approval by American Medical Association for Ultrasound-Guided Focal Laser Ablation of Prostate Cancer

IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 04, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- (publ) (CLS), today announced the (AMA) has approved its application and issued a Category level III Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) reimbursement code for transperineal focal laser ablation of malignant prostate tissue with ultrasound guidance.” The new code is expected to be formally finalized and active from July 1, 2021.

The CPT terminology is the most widely accepted medical nomenclature used across the U.S. to report and reimburse for medical, surgical, and radiology procedures under public and private health insurance programs. CPT code descriptors are clinically focused and utilize common standards so that a diverse set of users can have common understanding across the clinical health care paradigm.
