First Northwest Bancorp Promotes Derek Brown to Executive Vice President/Chief Human Resources & Marketing Officer

PORT ANGELES, Wash., March 02, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- First Northwest Bancorp (NASDAQ: FNWB) (“Company”), the holding company for First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Port Angeles (“Bank” or “First Federal”), recently promoted Derek Brown to Executive Vice President/Chief Human Resources & Marketing Officer, managing human resources, marketing and investor relations.  Brown has been a Senior Vice President since starting with the Bank in 2015. 

“Over the past five years, Derek’s strategic contributions have helped expand the Bank’s organizational strategy and elevate team performance and leadership.  His experience in HR and operational management will provide additional capabilities in moving the Bank to the next level, and we are fortunate to have him on our executive management team,” stated Matthew P. Deines, President & Chief Executive Officer. 

Prior to joining First Federal, Brown was an HR and business leader at Citibank, where he managed significant culture and organizational transformation efforts.  He has also held HR leadership roles in financial and professional services and healthcare.  Brown holds a BS in Human Resources Management from Utah State University, a Masters of Business Administration from Weber State University and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School.
