Il parait inutile de revenir en détails sur l’histoire d’Archos, bien connue de tous, un des fleurons français de l’électronique grand public à la pointe de l’innovation au début des années 2000, fortement pénalisé par l’intensification de l’environnement concurrentiel au début de la décennie 2010. Si le groupe parvient à afficher en moyenne environ 150 M€ de CA entre 2013 et 2016, un véritable retournement s’effectue à partir de 2017 avec une décroissance très forte.
Archos designs, manufactures through its sub-contractors, and distributes mobile devices which can be plugged in to the Internet. Co. offers three product lines: Internet Tablets, Tablet PCs, MP 3/MP 4 Players. All of these products allow entertainment, connectivity and mobility. Co.'s operations can be divided geographically into three segments: Europe, Americas and Asia.
