FLASH: UK consumer resurgence despite Jun-18 dip

- Retail sales disappointed extraordinarily bullish Consensus expectations by falling 0.5% m-o-m in June but matched my assessment to keep Q2 GDP tracking 0.4%.
- Payback merely returns retail sales to their resilient trend with quarterly growth still surging. Other measures are less exuberant but broadly agree sales are strong.
- Warm weather in May will have frontloaded some sales from June, contributing to this dip. It will also have boosted non-retail leisure activities in consumption.
