FLASH: UK retail’s retreat in Oct-18 offset by revisions

- UK retail sales shrunk by 0.4% m-o-m in Oct-18, but the upward revisions to September offset the disappointment. Sales are still back to their brisk trend.
- Slowing 3m-o-3m growth contrasts with a reassuring rise in real wages. I still expect real GDP growth to slow temporarily to 0.3% q-o-q in 4Q18.
- Brexit developments remain far more critical, especially in the “endgame”.
