Preview: UK parliamentary pushes on plan B

- On Tuesday 29 January, amendments to the UK government’s ‘plan b’ will be voted upon, and some with opposing aims may pass.
- Potential Europhile amendments include some that conditionally oblige a request to extend Article 50. It may pass this stage, but does not mean the EU would agree.
- Eurosceptic proposals seek to show that a deal is agreeable after fixing the backstop. I still ultimately expect a codicil that conditionally breaks the backstop.
