The year 2020 was marked by a strong recovery after several technical and logistical incidents occurring the year prior. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there has been a depression in the oil industry, creating pressure on the sourcing of crude oil and affecting the costs of access to raw material from Colombia. Furthermore, 2020 was characterized by a low International Brent crude oil price throughout the year 2020, allowing SMB to benefit from a larger spread.
