PTC Revenue Grows Despite Tough Competition in Cellular Market

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTC) reported earnings of PKR 1.13bn (EPS: PKR 0.22) on consolidated basis in 2QCY18, which brought half year earnings to PKR 2.14bn (EPS: PKR 0.42). PTC’s Board of Directors also announced an interim dividend of PKR 1.00/share. According to disclosures in the analyst briefing held yesterday, the company’s revenue from Wire line Data Segment posted a growth of 6% YoY to clock in at around 6.74bnin 2QCY18. The company’s revenue from Wire line Data segment increased due to increase in Average Revenue per User (ARPU) and its average customer base. Further, Ufone’s subscriber base too increased, leading to growth in revenue. Meanwhile, Ubank increased its branch network to 130 locations.
