Through its subsidiaries, the company is a provider of outsourced aircraft and aviation operating services in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, North America and South America. The company's business is organized into three operating segments: crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI), which provides cargo aircraft outsourcing services to customers on an ACMI and crew, maintenance and insurance, but not the aircraft basis; cargo and passenger charter services, which provides planeload cargo and passenger aircraft to customers; and dry leasing aircraft and engines, which provides aircraft and engines to customers.
Expeditors International of Washington provides global logistics services. As a third party logistics provider, the company purchases cargo space from carriers (such as airlines, ocean shipping lines, and trucking lines) on a volume basis and resells that space to its customers. The company provides a range of transportation services and customer solutions, such as customs brokerage, order management, transportation, warehousing and distribution, transit, cargo insurance, cargo monitoring and tracking, and other customized logistics and consulting solutions. The company's Project Cargo unit handles special project shipments that move via a single method or combination of air, ocean, and/or ground transportation.
FedEx provides transportation, e-commerce and business services through companies under the FedEx brand. These companies are included in the following segments: Federal Express Corporation, including TNT Express B.V., is an express transportation company; FedEx Ground Package System, Inc., which is a provider of small-package ground delivery services; FedEx Freight Corporation, which is a provider of less-than-truckload freight services; and FedEx Corporate Services, Inc., which provides sales, marketing, information technology, communications, customer service, technical support, billing and collections services, and certain back-office functions.
Nippon Express is mainly engaged in the transportation business. Along with its domestic and overseas affiliates, Co. is engaged in the railway forwarding, motor transportation, warehousing, air freight forwarding, marine & harbor transportation businesses; the information asset management; the travel agency business; the provision of security services; the transportation, erection and installation of heavy goods; the sale and leasing of logistics equipment; the sale of package materials, petroleum and liquefied petroleum (LP) gas; the sale, leasing and maintenance of vehicles; and the insurance agency, real estate, research, logistics finance, driving school and staffing businesses.
Royal Mail is a delivery company. Co. delivers letters and parcels across the U.K. Co.'s operations and networks comprised of: UK Parcels, International & Letters (UKPIL) and General Logistics Systems (GLS). UKPIL comprises Co.'s main U.K. and international parcels and letters delivery businesses under the Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide brands. It supports the provision of services for the collection, sorting and delivery of parcels and letters by Co. GLS is Co.'s European parcels business. It operates parcel delivery networks in Europe. The GLS network covers 41 European countries and nation states through a combination of wholly-owned companies and partner companies.
Singapore Post is engaged in the operation and provision of postal, logistics and retail services. Co. and its subsidiaries have three main operating divisions: Mail, which provides services for collecting, sorting, transporting and distributing domestic and international mail as well as sale of philatelic products; Logistics, which provides a range of logistics solutions, comprising freight, warehousing, domestic and international distribution, and delivery services; as well as Retail and eCommerce, which provides a variety of products and services in addition to the scope of postal services, including agency services, financial services and front-end ecommerce solutions.
