Moody's: E Mart's improved 2016 results are credit positive; rating unaffected
Hong Kong, January 26, 2017-- Moody's Investors Service says that E Mart Inc.' s improved operating results for 2016 are credit positive, but will not immediately affect its Baa2 issuer rating or the negative outlook on the rating. "Although E Mart's earnings and financial leverage improved moderately in 2016, these levels still remain weak for the Baa2 rating category," says Wan Hee Yoo, a Moody's Vice President and Senior Analyst. According to the company's announcement on 25...E-mart is engaged in the hypermarket business. Co. engages in the provision of basic necessities of life, food services, and food materials wholesale as well as operation of discount stores in Shanghai, China. Co. also operates resorts with golf courses. Co. operates over 140 stores across the Republic of Korea (South Korea) as of Dec. 2012.
