Moody's: JR Central's liquidity remains well-supported by JPY3tn in government loans amid increasing investment in Maglev project

Tokyo, February 14, 2017-- Moody's Japan K.K. says that Central Japan Railway Company's liquidity remains well-supported by JPY3.0 trillion in government loans, as the company ramps up its investments in its JPY5.5 trillion maglev line, the Chuo Shinkansen, which is scheduled to start operations in 2027.. "The government's loan for the maglev project has both benefits as well as drawbacks for JR Central," says Kailash Chhaya, a Moody's Vice President and Senior Analyst.
