Moody's says Kraft Heinz Proposal to Buy Unilever is Credit Negative; Rating and Outlook Unchanged For Now

New York, February 17, 2017-- In a comment published today, Moody's Investors Service, Inc. said that The Kraft Heinz Company's rejected proposal to acquire Unilever PLC and Unilever N.V. for $143 billion that was announced earlier today is a credit negative for Kraft Heinz. Moody's view is based on its expectation that if a deal similar to the one proposed is consummated, significantly higher financial leverage would likely result, although there would be offsetting benefits...
