METALS WEEKLY: India flat steel product prices lower; coking coal prices decline

Indian steel: Long product (TMT Mumbai) prices were up ~1% WoW. Sponge iron prices were down ~1% WoW, while scrap prices were up ~2% WoW. Domestic iron ore prices were unchanged after declining over the last couple of weeks. Pellet prices were lower. Domestic HRC prices were down ~1% WoW, but export prices were unchanged. Import price offers, however, were higher WoW.
Raw materials: Iron ore prices (China CFR) were unchanged. Thermal coal prices were marginally lower. Coking coal prices were down ~4% WoW. China's pellet import prices were down ~1% WoW. Chinese graphite electrode prices were lower.
Europe: HRC prices were unchanged. CIS HRC export prices were also unchanged. Rotterdam scrap prices were marginally higher.
China steel prices: Chinese local rebar and HRC prices were up ~1% WoW. Export prices of rebar and HRC were unchanged.
Base metals: Aluminum (cash LME) was down ~3% WoW. Alumina prices were marginally lower. Copper (cash LME) was up ~1% WoW. Zinc (cash LME) was also down ~1% WoW. Lead (cash LME) was up ~1% WoW. Brent crude prices were up ~6% WoW.
