Indian steel: Long product (TMT Mumbai) prices were up ~5% WoW. Sponge iron prices were also up ~5% WoW, while domestic scrap prices were up ~4% WoW. Pellet prices were unchanged. A few private iron ore miners raised fines/lump prices by INR200/400 per ton. Domestic HRC prices were marginally higher, while import price offers were up ~4% WoW.
Raw materials: Iron ore prices (China cfr) were up ~2% WoW. Thermal coal prices were up ~3% WoW. Coking coal prices were unchanged at higher levels on reports of supply disruption in Australia. China's pellet import prices were unchanged.
Europe: HRC prices were up ~5% WoW. Product spreads were higher. CIS HRC export prices were marginally higher. Rotterdam scrap prices were unchanged.
China: Local HRC was marginally lower, while rebar prices were down ~4% WoW. Export HRC was marginally higher WoW, while rebar prices were up ~4% WoW.
Base metals: Aluminum (cash LME) was up ~2% WoW, while alumina was down by ~3% WoW. Copper (cash LME) was up ~3% WoW. Zinc and lead were also up ~3%. Brent crude was unchanged.
