METALS WEEKLY: Iron ore (China CFR) prices increase ~11% WoW

Indian steel: Long product (TMT Mumbai) prices were up ~1% WoW. Sponge iron prices ended the week flat, while scrap prices were marginally higher WoW. Domestic iron ore prices for NMDC dipped slightly. Pellet prices were unchanged, while domestic HRC prices were down ~1% WoW. Export prices remained largely unchanged, while import price offers increased.
Raw materials: Iron ore prices (China CFR) were ~11% higher WoW, due to likely disruption at Vale. Thermal coal prices were down ~1% WoW. Coking coal prices were up ~2% WoW. China's pellet import prices were up 5% WoW, driven by increase in iron ore prices. Chinese graphite electrode prices declined 4% WoW.
Europe: HRC prices were down 4% WoW. CIS HRC export prices were flat. Rotterdam scrap prices were up ~6% WoW.
China steel prices: Chinese local rebar and HRC prices were marginally down WoW. Export prices of rebar and HRC increased marginally WoW.
Base metals: Aluminum (cash LME) was up ~1% WoW. Alumina prices were lower. Copper (cash LME) was up ~3% WoW. Zinc (cash LME) was up ~4% WoW. Lead (cash LME) was marginally higher. Brent crude prices were up ~2% WoW.
