METALS WEEKLY: NMDC iron ore prices decline ~5% WoW

Indian steel: Long product (TMT Mumbai) prices were unchanged WoW. Sponge iron prices remained flat for the week, while scrap prices increased ~3% WoW. Iron ore prices for NMDC decreased 5% WoW. Pellet prices were lower by ~3% WoW. Domestic HRC prices were flat WoW. Export price offers were unchanged, while import offers trended lower WoW.
Raw materials: Iron ore prices (China CFR) increased ~3% WoW. Thermal coal prices were down ~4% WoW. Coking coal prices decreased ~1% WoW. China’s pellet import prices were largely unchanged WoW. Chinese graphite electrode prices were slightly higher.
Europe: HRC prices were unchanged. CIS HRC export prices were lower ~1% WoW. Rotterdam scrap prices were down ~1% WoW.
China steel prices: Chinese HRC and rebar prices were higher ~1% WoW. Export prices for rebar were flat, while those for HRC were lower by ~1% WoW.
Base metals: Aluminum (cash LME) prices were down ~1% WoW. Alumina prices were flat WoW. Copper (cash LME) prices were down ~1% WoW. Zinc (cash LME) decreased ~1% WoW. Lead (cash LME) prices were down ~2% WoW. Brent crude prices were up ~3% WoW.
