Additionally, the company was requested by police officials to design a new Extraction Shield incorporating features that will solve problems with older models in use which often result in serious injuries for the officers using them.
In response, the Lamperd research and development team has designed a new Extraction Shield, ideally shaped and sized in clear polycarbonate for use in transferring violent or medically unstable persons in tight spaces. The Lamperd Extraction Shield is also equipped with padded handles that can pivot and flex in response to pressure so as to avoid the situations with existing shields in use which have been causing broken ribs and other serious injuries. This new product will protect police or other emergency response personnel form impact injuries and bodily fluid contamination while doing transfers to and from vehicles, small rooms or other places where larger shields are not practical.
