Market Commentaries

 

  • Equity market Summary

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) maintain a positive performance (w/w). By the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index increased by 1.16% at 237.48 points. However, in overall since the start of the year, it is still down by 0.30%. The BRVM 10 index upped by 2.59% at 215.48 points. Recording a positive annual performance so far at 0.17%.  The market total value of shares traded this week was at XOF 4.186 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 775 500 shares against 1 899 828 shares last week.

 

The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 23 gainers and 16 laggards. At the sector level, Petroleum & Gas index once again was the best performer, surging by 16,07% at 76.11 points. However, Textile index acknowledged the most significant drop (-3.64%) at 126.28 points.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SETAO CI (+36.84%), which shows the most substantial rise to close at XOF 260 and continue to confirm its good shape. AIR LIQUIDE CI gained +21.98% at XOF 555. The stock NEI CEDA CI (XOF 120) recorded +20.00% with a gain of XOF 20 compared to the last week. With a price of XOF 4 380, SODECI has boosted the Infrastructure sector index (+5.11%). SERVAIR ABIDJAN CI closes this bullish list with an 8.88% growth for a price of XOF 1 900.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SUCRIVOIRE, which fell further this week by 17.72% to end at XOF1 300. TRACTAFRIC MOTORS CI continue a second week of decline by leaving 13.49% to stand at XOF 250 000. BOA SENEGAL didn’t confirm its rise observed last week by closing at XOF 2 795 for a drop of 12.66% compared to last Friday. PALM CI has crumbled by 8.96%, draining then XOF 18 471 100 of his capital to close at XOF 6 500. Finally, BERNABE CI lost 6.25% to established at XOF 3 000.

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended the week with an increase of 0.49% at XOF 2 952.49 billion against XOF 2 938.02 billion last week. This down is mainly explained by the first listing of the bond “CRHH-UEMOA 5.95% 2017-2029 ". The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 689 735 000 for 69 118 bonds traded. The bond “TPBJ 6.50% 2017-2027” with 39 535 bonds for XOF 395 350 000 was the most liquid, representing 57.32% of the total value traded.
