  • Equity market Summary

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index decreased by 0.57% at 234.49 points, and recording a negative annual performance so far at 1.55%. The BRVM 10 index grew by 0.37% at 219.21 points, and in overall it is up by 1.90% since the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 2.55 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 12 559 682 shares against 5 814 225 shares last week.

The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 8 gainers and 32 laggards. At the sector level, Edition Publication index was the best performer, surging by 25.97% at 593.25 points. And Tobacco index acknowledged the most significant drop(-7.50%) at 31.94 points.

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 NEI CEDA CI (+25.97%), which shown the most substantial evolution by ending at XOF 970, and continue to confirm its impressive shape. UNIWAX CI (XOF 3 195) closed the trading day by pulling up the index of the Textile sector by 10.17%. ETI rose by +4.35% at XOF 24. ONATEL BF (+2.44%) progressed from XOF 8 200 to XOF 8 400. SIB CI (XOF 17 000) close the list with an increase of +1.80%. 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

SOLIBRA CI (XOF 82 600) which fell this week by 14.92% and continue its negative cycle since the publication of its financial year result. CIE CI ranks second in this register with a drop of 7.89% for a price of XOF 1 750. SITAB CI lost XOF 3 935 to XOF 48 565 for a 7.50% drop. SOGB CI has crumbled by 6.98%, draining then XOF 12 545 410 of his capital to close at XOF 4 000. Finally, BOA NIGER CI closed to XOF 4 300 for a 6.52% drop.

  • Bond Market Summary

 The bond market ended this week with a decrease of 0.37% at XOF 3 285.63 billion against XOF 3 297.86 billion last week. The reason for this down is the loss of XOF 749 on the price of the bond “TPBJ 6.50% 2017-2027”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 308 124 950 for 30 550 bonds traded. The bond “TPCI 6.55% 2014-2022” with 30 000 bonds for XOF 303 000 000 was the most liquid, representing 98.34% of the total value traded.
