Equity market Summary
Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index decreased by 0.40% at 216.86 points, and record a negative annual performance so far at 8.96%. The BRVM 10 index is down by 0.23% at 205.13 points, and in overall it is down by 4.64% since the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 2.581 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 622 657 shares against 725 019 shares last week.
The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 14 gainers and 24 laggards. At the sector level, Infrastructure index was the best performer, surging by 14.11% at 36.17 points. Also Construction (BTP) index acknowledged the most significant drop (-23.73%) at 62.60 points.
The worst performances of the week were recorded by:
SETAO CI (XOF 225) which decreased by 23.73%, close at XOF 225. Since the publication of its first quarter 2018 result (net profit down by XOF 68.632 million), NEI CEDA CI (XOF 225), fell by 21.88% to remain in its negative trend. The contraction in the Cable sector, whose index lost 9.56 points, is mainly related to the underperformance (-11.82%) of its only value SICABLE CI which ended at XOF 1 455. ONATEL BF has crumbled by 10.12%, draining then XOF 294 316 065 of his capital to close at XOF 7 995. Finally, ETI CI closed to XOF 19 for a 9.52% drop.
The best performances of the week were recorded by:
CIE CI (+23.85%) which shows the most substantial evolution by ending at XOF 1 610 against XOF 1 300 last week. After this day of trading, SMB CI rose by 18.52% at XOF 16 800. BOA MALI progressed by 8.65% to a price of XOF 2 825. The performance of Transport sector index (+1.63%) is driven by BOLLORE T & L CI which closed at XOF 3 290, for an improvement of 6.13%. Finally SODECI (XOF 3 995) close the list with an increase of +5.13%.
Bond Market Summary
The bond market ended this week with an increase of 0.54% at XOF 3 279.80 billion against XOF 3 297.58 billion last week. The reason for this down is the partial reimbursement of the bonds “TPCI 6.30% 2013-2018”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 1 018 729 083 for 101 878 bonds traded. The bond “TPBJ 6.50% 2017-2027” with 50 015 bonds for XOF 500 149 985 was the most liquid, representing 49.10% of the total value traded.
