Market Commentaries

 

  • Equity market Summary

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index decreased by 2.47% at 228.70 points, and record a negative annual performance so far at 3.98%. The BRVM 10 index down by 1.72% at 215.44 points, but in overall it is up by 0.15% since the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 2.64 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 809 340 shares against 12 559 682 shares last week.

 

The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 7 gainers and 35 laggards. All sectorial Indexes present a decline with the highest one being recorded by the Edition Publication (-20.10%) at 473.99 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

NEI CEDA CI (XOF 775) which fell by 20.10% remains in a negative trend since the publication of its financial year result (Net Income drop by XOF 68.632 million). Compare to the last week, AIR LIQUIDE CI ranks second in this register with a drop of 17.65% for a price of XOF 420. CIE lost XOF 270 to XOF 1 480 for a 15.43% drop. SICOR CI has crumbled by 13.87%, draining then XOF 43 055 of his capital to close at XOF 2 825. Finally, BERNABE CI closed to XOF 2 805 for a 12.34% drop.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

NSIA BANQUE CI (+11.25%), which shows the most substantial evolution by ending at XOF 8 900. BOA NIGER gained 6.98% and close at XOF 4 600 against XOF 4 300 the last week. After a day of trading, SIB CI rose by 5.29% at XOF 17 900. TOTAL CI (+4.62%) progress from XOF 2 055 to XOF 2 150. SERVAIR ABIDJAN CI (XOF 1 670) close the list with an increase of +1.21%.

 

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended this week with an increase of 0.37% at XOF 3 297.87 billion against XOF 3 285.63 billion last week. The reason for this up is the gain of XOF 750 on the price of the bond “TPBJ 6.50% 2017-2027”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 13 366 488 for 1 337 bonds traded. The bond “TPBJ 6.50% 2017-2027” with 640 bonds for XOF 6 396 584 was the most liquid, representing 47.86% of the total value traded.
