Equity market Summary

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) end the week with a good performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index up by 6.43% at 178.72 points. Consequently, it annual performance grew by 4.07% to reach P/E of 10.78.

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1.550 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 510 730 shares against 1 190 685 shares last week. The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 23 gainers against 13 decliners and 9 shares unchanged.

At the sector level, “Telecommunication” was the best performer, growing by 9.85% at 67.12 points and the “Cables” knew the strongest drop (-4.68%) at 45.43 points.

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

SONATEL is at the top of the week's rankings. The stock boosted 15.61% to XOF 20 000. CROWN SIEM CI (XOF 295) grew by 13.46% for a total traded value of XOF 618 210. SETAO CI (XOF 170) recorded an interesting performance this week, with an up of 13.33%. At this trading session, SOGB CI increased by 9.51% to stand at XOF 2 245. TOTAL SN ends the week with a gain of 8.53% to XOF 1 400.

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

SICABLE CI which show the largest drop of the week  (-9.15%) to XOF 1 490. At this trading session, SOLIBRA CI (XOF 45 500) showed a loss of 9.00%. SERVAIR ABIDJAN CI decreased by 8.46% to stand at XOF 1 190. SIB CI (XOF 2 500) recorded a drop of 7.24% inducing the low performance of the Banking & Finance index. TOTAL CI ends this downward ranking with a decline of 5.58% to XOF 1 270.

 

Bond Market Summary

The bond market ended this week with an increase of 0.08% at XOF 3 506.718 billion against XOF 3 503.789 billion last week. The reason for this up is the gain of XOF 200 on the price of the bond “TPCI 6.00% 2016-2028”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 145.038 million for 14 590 bonds traded. The bond called “TPTG 6.90% 2018-2023” with 8 297 bonds for XOF 82.965 million was the most liquid, representing 57.20% of the total value traded.
