  • Equity market Summary

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) end the week with a poor performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index fell by 2.15% at 174.88 points. Nevertheless, its annual performance has improved by 1.83% to reach P/E of 10.61.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1.338 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 2 425 030 shares against 510 730 shares last week. The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 20 decliners against 12 gainers and 13 shares unchanged.

 

At the sector level, “Edition Publication” was the best performer, growing by 34.21% at 193.89 points and the “Cables” knew the strongest drop (-12.75%) at 39.64 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SICABLE CI which show the largest drop of the week (-12.75%) to XOF 1 300. At this trading session, ECOBANK CI (XOF 3 350) showed a loss of 11.84%. FILTISAC CI decreased by 10.07% to stand at XOF 1 250. CIE CI (XOF 1 175) recorded a drop of 8.56% inducing the low performance of the Infrastructure index. SOLIBRA CI ends this downward ranking with a decline of 7.47% to XOF 42 100.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

NEI CEDA CI is at the top of the week's rankings. The stock boosted 34.21% to XOF 255. BERNABE CI (XOF 2 250) grew by 23.29% for a total traded value of XOF 28 392 745. SUCRIVOIRE (XOF 900) recorded an interesting performance this week, with an up of 10.56%. At this trading session, BOA CI increased by 5.57% to stand at XOF 3 695. Finally, SMB CI ends the week with a gain of 3.20% at XOF 5 000.

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended this week with a decrease by 0.76% at XOF 3 480.226 billion against XOF 3 506.718 billion last week. The reason for this down is the partial reimbursement of the sukuk named “SUKUK ETAT DE CÔTE D’IVOIRE 5.75% 2016-2023”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 1.508 billion for 150 519 bonds traded. The bond called “ETAT SENEGAL 6.30% 2015-2025” with 140 000 bonds for XOF 1.407 billion was the most liquid, representing 93.32% of the total value traded.
