  • Equity market Summary

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) end the week with a bad performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index fell by 0.52% at 173.96 points. Nevertheless, its annual performance has improved by 1.33% to reach P/E of 10.64.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1.198 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 919 078 shares against 2 425 030 shares last week. The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 24 decliners against 13 gainers and 8 shares unchanged.

 

At the sector level, “Edition Publication” was the best performer, growing by 29.41% at 250.91 points and the “Cables” knew the strongest drop (-14.23%) at 34.00 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SICABLE CI which show the largest drop of the week (-14.23%) to XOF 1 115. At this trading session, NSIA BANQUE CI (XOF 4 000) showed a loss of 12.09%. SUCRIVOIRE CI decreased by 9.05% to stand at XOF 905. UNILEVER CI recorded a drop of 7.50% to reach a price of XOF 4 750. TOTAL SN (XOF 1 300) ends this downward ranking with a decline of 6.81% inducing the low performance of the Oil & Gas index.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

NEI CEDA CI is at the top of the week's rankings. The stock boosted by 29.41% to XOF 330. This Friday, AIR LIQUIDE CI (19.51%) evolved from XOF 410 to XOF 490. With a trading volume of 128 shares, NESTLE CI (XOF 955) gained 15.76%. Compared to the previous week, FILTISAC CI (XOF 1 365) recovered its color with a 9.20% up. Finally, ECOBANK CI ended the week with an increase of 8.36% at XOF 3 630.

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended this week with a decrease by 0.06% at XOF 3 478.12 billion against XOF 3 480.23 billion last week. The reason for this down is the loss of XOF 125 on the price of the bond issue called “TPCI 5.90% 2016-2026”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 677.103 million for 68 029 bonds traded. The bond “ETAT SENEGAL 6.30% 2015-2025” with 33 901 bonds for XOF 340.371 million was the most liquid, representing 50.27% of the total value traded.
