Equity market Summary
Over the past week, all market indices have gained ground, thus limiting their losses to date at 10.26%. The BRVM Composite gained 6.46% and the BRVM 10 gained 9.14%. The average PER and the average market liquidity rate stood at 9.83 and 14.08 respectively. The volume traded on the market rose 36.76% with 1 884 653 shares traded against 1 378 057 last week. In the same wake, the weekly transaction flow amounted to XOF 11.802 billion against XOF 5.882 billion last week, an increase of 100.64%. The large transactions concerned SONATEL, TOTAL CI and BOLLORE A.L representing respectively 42.17%, 22.55% and 8.63% of the total weekly value.
The best performance of the market was driven by stocks such as: PALM CI (25.00%) which leads the strongest increases of the week to XOF 2 250 seems to regain the interest of investors. TOTAL CI posted a jump of 19.49% to XOF 1 410. The SONATEL SN share is granted 19.13% this week to XOF 13 700 and continues its upward trend. NSIA BANQUE CI improved by 13.64% to XOF 6 250. Finally, SERVAIR ABIDJAN CI (XOF 1 095) ends the week at 10.05%.
However, despite its upward trend, the market recorded poor performance driven by: SICOR CI which posted the largest drop of the week (-19.08%) at XOF 1 230, SUCRIVOIRE CI shed 3.57% at XOF 540, TOTAL SENEGAL loses 2.03% to XOF 1 450. UNIWAX CI shows a drop of 1.90% to XOF 1 030. Finally, CIE CI share fell by 1.89% to XOF 2 600.
Bond Market Summary
The bond market closed the week up 1.06% to XOF 5 757.75 billion against XOF 5 697.37 billion the previous week. The total value of transactions on this market amounted to XOF 5.690 billion for 571 093 securities traded. In addition, the bonds "TPCI 5.85% 2014-2021" and "TPCI 5.75% 2019-2026" with respectively 500 000 shares and 17 510 shares for XOF 4.998 billion and XOF 175.083 million were the most liquid and represent 87.82% and 3.08% respectively of the total values traded.
The five best yields to maturity were observed on the bonds: ETAT DU MALI 6.50% 2017-2024 (yield of 14.389% at the price of XOF 7 999), BOAD 5.95% 2014-2021 (yield of 8.019% at the price of XOF 9 800), SUKUK CI 5.75% 2015-2020 (yield of 7.710% at the price of XOF 9 990), FCTC NSIA BANQUE CI 7.00% 2020-2025 (yield of 7.003% at the price of XOF 9 443) and ETAT DU MALI 6.50% 2019-2027 (yield of 6.878% at the price of XOF 9 800).
