Market Commentaries

 

 

  • Equity market Summary

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index decreased by 3.07% at 221.69 points, and record a negative annual performance so far at 6.93%. The BRVM 10 index down by 3.11% at 208.74 points, and in overall it is down by 2.97% since the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 3.829 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 1 180 552 shares against 809 340 shares last week.

 

The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 12 gainers and   25 laggards. At the sector level, Tobacco index was the best performer, surging by 5.11% at 31.50 points. And Edition Publication index acknowledged the most significant drop (-30.97%) at 327.21 points.

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

NEI CEDA CI (XOF 535) which fell by 30.97% remains in a negative trend since the publication of its financial year result (Net Income drop by XOF 68.632 million). In a negative trend for several weeks, SOGB CI dropped by 25.80% for a price of XOF 2 890. The bad performance of the Transport sector, whose index lost 6.48 points, is mainly due to the down by -16.55% of BOLLORE TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS CI (XOF 3 000). VIVO ENERGY CI has crumbled by 12.86%, draining then XOF 6 859 010 of his capital to close at XOF 915. Finally, CFAO CI closed to XOF 555 for a 11.20% drop.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SICOR CI (+5.49%), which shows the most substantial evolution by ending at XOF 2 980. SITAB CI closed at XOF 47 895 against XOF 45 565 the last week, for a gain of 5.11%. After this day of trading, BOA SENEGAL rose by 5.00% at XOF 2 100. ETI (+4.55%) progress from XOF 22 to XOF 23. Finally ECOBANK CI (XOF 24 000) close the list with an increase of +4.12%.

 

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

 

The bond market ended this week with an increase of 1.35% at XOF 3 342.43 billion against XOF 3 297.87 billion last week. The reason for this up is the first listing of the bond “TPTG 6.90% 2018-2023”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 52 945 806 for 5 440 bonds traded. The bond “TPBF 6.50% 2013-2020” with 2 204 bonds for XOF 21 599 200 was the most liquid, representing 40.80% of the total value traded.
