Market Commentaries
Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index decreased by 0.85% at 217.72 points, and record a negative annual performance so far at 8.59%. The BRVM 10 index is down by 0.82% at 204.65 points, and in overall it is down by 4.87% since the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 2.193 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 725 019 shares against 699 200 shares last week.
The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 15 gainers and 23 laggards. At the sector level, Banking & Finance index was the best performer, surging by 6.73% at 61.23 points. Also Edition Publication index acknowledged the most significant drop (-25.58%) at 195.71 points.
The worst performances of the week were recorded by:
NEI CEDA CI (XOF 320) which fell by 25.58% and remains in a negative trend since the publication of its financial year result (Net Income drop by XOF 68.632 million). BOA MALI has crumbled by 16.13%, draining then XOF 8 684 275 of his capital to close at XOF 2 600. FILTISAC CI dropped by 11.06% for a price of XOF 3 900. The lousy performance of the Distribution sector, whose index lost 3.55 points, is mainly due to the down by -10.55% of BERNABE CI (XOF 2 500). Finally, CIE CI closed to XOF 1 300 for a 10.34% drop.
The best performances of the week were recorded by:
BOA CI (+21.05%), which shows the most substantial evolution by ending at XOF 4 600. TOTAL SENEGAL closed at XOF 1 700 regained color after a declining trend for two consecutive weeks, showing an improvement of 13.33%.BOA SENEGAL (+10.04%) progress from XOF 2 340 to XOF 2 575. After this day of trading, SOGB CI rose by 8.53% at XOF 3 500. Finally SICOR CI (XOF 3 010) close the list with an increase of +7.50%.
The bond market ended this week with an increase of 0.89% at XOF 3 297.58 billion against XOF 3 327.12 billion last week. The reason for this down is the partial reimbursement of the bonds “TPBF 6.50% 2013-2020”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 760 285 566 for 76 331 bonds traded. The bond “SUKUK ETAT DU TOGO 6.50% 2016-2026” with 45 250 bonds for XOF 452 500 000 was the most liquid, representing 59.52% of the total value traded.
