Market Commentaries
Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index increased by 1.10% at 219.24 points, but record a negative annual performance so far at 7.96%. The BRVM 10 index is up by 1.40% at 208.01 points, however in overall it is down by 3.31% since the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 2.440 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 689 211 shares against 622 657 shares last week.
The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 16 gainers and 15 laggards. At the sector level, oil & Gas index was the best performer, growing by 3.91% at 69.68 points. As for Edition Publication index acknowledged the most significant drop (-18.00%) at 125.38 points.
The best performances of the week were recorded by :
VIVO ENERGY CI (+9.29%), which shows the most substantial rise to close at XOF 1 000 and continue to confirm its good shape. With a price of XOF 3 600, SIB CI shows a strong progress of 6.51% compared to the last week. BOLLORE Transport & Logistics CI (+3.14%), recorded a gain of XOF 210 on the price to close at XOF 3 500. BOA MALI gained +6.02% at XOF 2 995 against XOF 2 825 last week. Finally, TOTAL CI closes the list with a 5.56% growth for a price of XOF 1 900.
The worst performances of the week were recorded by :
PALM CI, which falls further this week by 18.11% to end at XOF 3 685. NEI CEDA CI realized another week of decline (18.00%) to stand at XOF 205. AIR LIQUIDE CI confirms its negative trend observed since several weeks by closing at XOF 370 for a drop of 10.84% compared to last Friday. SICOR CI has crumbled by 7.42%, draining then XOF 152 110 of his capital to close at XOF 2 870. Finally, SUCRIVOIRE CI lost 5.83% to establish at XOF 1 130.
The bond market ended this week with a slight decrease of 0.0004% at XOF 3 279.789 billion against XOF 3 279.804 billion last week. The reason for this down is the loss of XOF 1 on the price of the bonds “TPCI 5.95% 2017-2024 - A”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 518 519 895 for 52 118 bonds traded. The bond “ETAT DU SENEGAL 6.30% 2015-2025” with 50 447 bonds for XOF 504 469 999 was the most liquid, representing 97.29% of the total value traded.
