Market Commentaries
Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index decreased by 0.21% at 218.79 points and record a negative annual performance so far at 8.14%. The BRVM 10 index is down by 0.90% at 206.14 points and in overall it is still down by 4.17% from the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 2.907 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 3 015 308 shares against 689 211 shares last week.
The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 19 gainers and 16 laggards. At the sector level, Infrastructure index was the best performer, growing by 4.08% at 38.11 points. As for Edition Publication index, it acknowledged the most significant drop (-21.95%) at 97.86 points.
The best performances of the week were recorded by:
BICICI (+8.64%), which shows the most substantial rise to close at XOF 6 790 and rebounding after its bad performance of last week. The achievement of Infrastructure sector (+4.08%) is mainly due to SODECI (+7.69%) which close at XOF 4 200. VIVO ENERGY CI grew by 7.50% to reach XOF 1 075 in this trading session. This Friday, SOLIBRA CI (+7.25%) progressed from XOF 69 000 to XOF 70 000. Finally, with an evolution of 6.89%, BOA BENIN closed the list with a price of XOF 4 810 for a transaction volume of 15 687.
The worst performances of the week were recorded by:
NEI CEDA, which falls further this week by 21.95% to end at XOF 160, continues its bad trend observed since several weeks. ECOBANK CI did not sustain confirms its positive performance observed last week by closing at XOF 23 160 for a drop of 10.23%. PALM CI has crumbled by 9.23%, draining then XOF 6 827 940 of his capital to close at XOF 3 345. SETAO CI lost 6.82% to establish at XOF 205. Finally, BERNABE CI (-6.12%) which stand at XOF 2 300 reduce the performance of the Distribution index (-3.11%).
The bond market ended this week with a decrease of 0.88% at XOF 3 250.79 billion against XOF 3 279.789 billion last week. The reason for this down is the partial reimbursement of the bonds “TPCI 5.85% 2014-2021”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 254 179 751 for 25 792 bonds traded. The bond “ETAT SENEGAL 6.30% 2015-2025” with 23 000 bonds for XOF 229 977 000 was the most liquid, representing 90.48% of the total value traded.
