Market Commentaries

 

  • Equity market Summary

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index decreased by 0.29% at 213.39 points recording a negative annual performance so far at 10.41%. The BRVM 10 index is up by 0.07% at 201.25 points but in overall still down by 6.45% from the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1.806 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 501 372 shares against 633 745 shares last week.

 

The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 25 gainers and   13 laggards. At the sector level, Textile index was the best performer, growing by 1.59% at 122.27 points. As for Edition Publication index, it acknowledged the most significant drop (-12.20%) at 136.86 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

UNILEVER CI, which falls by 15.54%, closed to XOF 12 500. In decline of 12.20%, NEI CEDA CI (XOF 180) did not sustain its positive performanc²e observed last week. SERVAIR ABIDJAN CI (-9.42%) closed at XOF 1 490 against XOF 1 645 last Friday. At this trading session, VIVO ENERGY CI recorded a drop of 8.68% to reach a price of XOF 1000. Finally, CIE CI (-6.83%) with a closing price of XOF 1 500, decreased the performance of the Infrastructure Index in loss by 2.73 points.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

BOA BENIN (XOF 5 295), which shows the most substantial rise with a jump of 6.01%. With an improvement of 5.60%, BERNABE CI sees its value evolve from XOF 2 320 to XOF 2 450 this Friday. NSIA BANQUE CI raised by 4.87% at XOF 8 395 and recovers colors after its negative performance recorded last week. ETI grew by 4.55% to reach XOF 23 in this trading session. And finally, with an up of 4.00%, CROWN SIEM CI ended the list with a price of XOF 13 000.

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended this week with a increase of 0.01% at XOF 3 214.21 billion against XOF 3 213.77 billion last week. The reason for this up is the gain of XOF 25 on the price of the bond “TPCI 5.99 2015-2025”. The total value traded on the market amounts to           XOF 59 726 600 for 5 974 bonds traded. The bond “TPTG 6.90% 2018-2023” with 2 514 bonds for XOF 25 140 000 was the most liquid, representing 42.09% of the total value traded.
