Market Commentaries

 

  • Equity market Summary

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index decreased by 1.48% at 210.24 points recording a negative annual performance so far at 11.73%. The BRVM 10 index is down by 2.25% at 196.72 points and in overall still down by 8.55% from the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 3.144 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 715 478 shares against 501 372 shares last week.

 

 

The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 17 gainers and 23 laggards. At the sector level, Edition Publication index was the best performer, growing by 11.11% at 152.07 points. As for Automotive Suppliers index, it acknowledged the most significant drop (-2.14%) at 18.52 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

ETI, which falls by 8.70%, closed to XOF 21. In decline of 7.58%, SAPH CI (XOF 3 050) reduce the performance of Agro-processing Index (+1.03%). TOTAL SENEGAL (-6.45%) closed at XOF 1 450. At this trading session, SERVAIR ABIDJAN CI recorded a drop of 6.04% to reach a price of XOF 1 400. Finally, NSIA BANQUE CI (-4.82%) with a closing price of XOF 8 000 against XOF 8 395 last week.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

NEI CEDA CI (XOF 200), which shows the most substantial rise with a jump of 11.11%. With an improvement of 10.58%, SUCRIVOIRE CI sees its value evolve from XOF 1 040 to XOF 1 150 today. BOA BURKINA-FASO CI raised by 6.12% at XOF 5 200 and recovers colors after its negative performance recorded last week. SICOR CI grew by 6.06% to reach XOF 3 500 in this trading session. And finally, with an up of 5.32%, AIR LIQUIDE CI ended the list with a price of XOF 495.

 

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended this week with a decrease of 1.48% at XOF 3 203.75 billion against XOF 3 214.21 billion last week. The reason for this down is the partial reimbursement of the bond “ETAT DU SENEGAL 6.50% 2013-2023”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 59 890 863 for 6 047 bonds traded. The bond “TPTG 6.90% 2018-2023” with 3 480 bonds for XOF 34 799 959 was the most liquid, representing 58.11% of the total value traded.
