Equity market Summary

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index decreased by 0.96% at 206.45 points recording a negative annual performance so far at 13.33%. The BRVM 10 index is down by 0.21% at 195.12 points but in overall still down by 9.30% from the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1 268 362. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 370 898 shares against 1 264 182 shares last week.

The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 13 gainers and   24 decliners. At the sector level, Chemical index was the best performer, growing by 4.26% at 25.45 points. As for Textile index, it acknowledged the most significant drop (-6.61%) at 110.62 points.

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

UNILEVER CI, which falls by 14.03%, closed to  XOF 11 000. BOA CI turns red with a decline of 12.36% to show a price of XOF 3 900. SERVAIR ABIDJAN CI  (-10.42%) with a closing price of XOF 1 290, decreased the performance of the Distribution index in loss by 1.67 point. At this trading session, FILTISAC CI recorded a drop of 10.00% to reach a price of XOF 3 150. Finally, SODECI (-7.57%) closed at XOF 3 600 against XOF 3 895 last Friday.

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

AIR LIQUIDE CI (XOF 490) shows the most substantial rise with a jump of 4.26%. With an improvement of 3.28%,   SOGB CI sees its value evolve from XOF 3 205 to XOF 3 310 this Friday. CIE CI rose by 2.90% at XOF 1 595 and confirms its positive trend started since two weeks. SICOR CI grew by 2.86% to reach XOF 3 600 in this trading session. And finally, with an up of 1.56%, NEI CEDA CI ended the list with a price of XOF 200.

 

Bond Market Summary

The bond market ended this week with an increase of 0.23% at XOF 3 197.33 billion against XOF 3 196.28 billion last week. The reason for this growth is mainly due to the gain of XOF 200 on the price of the bond “TPCI 5.99% 2015-2025”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 263 938 600 for 26 594 bonds traded. The bond “TPTG 6.90% 2018-2023” with 13 243 bonds for XOF 132 430 000 was the most liquid, representing 50.44% of the total value traded.
