Market Commentaries

 

  • Equity market Summary

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index decreased by 0.43% at 205.56 points recording a negative annual performance so far at 13.70%. BRVM 10 index is down by 0.42% at 194.31 points but in overall still down by 9.67% from the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 2 251 396 899. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 1 362 619 shares against 370 898 shares last week.

 

The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 12 gainers and   24 decliners. At the sector level, Infrastructure index was the best performer, growing by 7.37% at 48.01 points and the Automotive Suppliers index knew the strongest drop (-4.96%) at 16.63 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

CFAO CI, which falls by 9.68%, closed to XOF 560. The stock confirms its negative trend started since the beginning of August. FILTISAC CI turns red with a decline of 9.52% to show a price of XOF 2 850. SICABLE CI (-7.17%) with a closing price of XOF 1 295, decreased the performance of the Cable index in loss by 1.66 point. At this trading session, SMB CI recorded a drop of 7.00% to reach a price of XOF 18 595. Finally, BOA BURKINA-FASO (-5.92%) closed at XOF 4 605 against XOF 4 895 last Friday.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SODECI (XOF 4 150) shows the most substantial rise with a jump of 15.28%. With an improvement of 7.94%, PALM CI sees its value evolve from XOF 3 150 to XOF 3 400 this Friday. This week, SOLIBRA CI rose by 6.90% at XOF 62 000. After the worst performance observed last week, TOTAL CI grew by 5.28% to reach XOF 1 895 this trading session. And finally, with an up of 5.17%, SAPH CI ended the list with a price of XOF 3 050 for a volume trade of 13 140.

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended this week at XOF 3 197.33 billion. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 104 890 000 for 10 689 bonds traded. The bond “BIDC 6.10% 2017-2027” with 10 000 bonds for XOF 98 000 000 was the most liquid, representing 93.43% of the total value traded.
