Equity market Summary

 

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a positive performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index increased by 0.20% at 205.98 points but recording a negative annual performance so far at 13.52%. BRVM 10 index is up by 0.13% at 194.57 points but in overall still down by 9.55% from the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1 227 454 676. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 1 265 965 shares against 1 362 619 shares last week.

 

The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 19 gainers and   15 decliners. At the sector level, Textile index was the best performer, growing by 9.98% at 122.08 points and the Edition Publication index knew the strongest drop (-5.13%) at 140.66 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

NESTLE CI, which falls by 7.16%, closed to XOF 1 750. VIVO ENERGY CI turns red with a decline of 6.63% to show a price of XOF 915. PALM CI (-5.88%) with a closing price of XOF 3 200, decreased the performance of the Agro-processing index in loss by 1.11 point. At this trading session, BERNABE CI recorded a drop of 5.88% to reach a price of            XOF 2 400. Finally, NEI CEDA CI (-5.13%) closed at XOF 185 against XOF 195 last Friday.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

BOA NIGER (XOF 4 450) shows the most substantial rise with a jump of 11.25%. With an improvement of 7.94%, SMB CI sees its value evolve from XOF 18 595 to XOF 20 500 this Friday. This week, UNIWAX CI rose by 9.98% at XOF          3 195. After the worst performance observed last week, CFAO CI grew by 8.93% to reach XOF 610 this trading session. And finally, with an up of 7.99%, BOA SENEGAL ended the list with a price of XOF 2 500 for a volume trade of 14 023 against 7 118 last week.

 

Bond Market Summary

 

 

The bond market ended this week with an increase of 0.04% at XOF 3 198.74 billion against XOF 3 197.33 billion last week. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 123 315 880 for 12 485 bonds traded. The bond “ETAT DU MALI 6.50% 2017-2024” with 10 065 bonds for XOF 99 650 000 was the most liquid, representing 80.81% of the total value traded.
