Market Commentaries
Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) ends with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index decreased by 2.48% at 201.56 points recording a negative annual performance so far at 15.38%. The BRVM 10 index is down by 2.18% at 191.16 points and in overall still down by 11.14% from the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1 960 299 885. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 637 741 shares against 1 265 965 shares last week.
The market breadth was negative (w/w) with 5 gainers and 34 decliners. At the sector level, Food & Beverage index was the best performer, growing by 0.75% at 65.98 points and the Edition Publication index knew the strongest drop (-8.11%) at 129.26 points.
The worst performances of the week were recorded by:
BOA NIGER (-12.36%) and BOA MALI (-10.73%), which show the strongest degradations, are respectively closed to XOF 3 900 and XOF 2 495. These values contribute significantly to the performance of the Banking & Finance index, which declined by 3.42%. ONATEL BF turns red with a decline of 9.52% to show a price of XOF 3 800. At this trading session, BOA SENEGAL recorded a drop of 9.20% to reach a price of XOF 2 270. Finally, NEI CEDA CI (-8.11%) closed at XOF 170 against XOF 185 last Friday.
The best performances of the week were recorded by:
UNILEVER CI (XOF 12 800) shows the most substantial rise with a jump of 11.30%. After the worst performance observed last week, VIVO ENERGY CI grew by 1.64% to reach XOF 930 this trading session. With an improvement of 1.54%, CIE CI sees its value evolve from XOF 1 620 to XOF 1 645 this Friday. This week, SAPH CI rose by 0.33% at XOF 3 060. And finally, with an up of 0.31%, CORIS BANK INTERNATIONAL ended the list with a price of XOF 8 125 for a volume trade of 2 995 stocks.
The bond market ended this week with an increase of 2.89% at XOF 3 291.15 billion against XOF 3 198.74 billion last week. The reason for this growth is mainly due to the first listing of the bond “TPBF 6.50% 2018-2025”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 39 789 977 for 4 354 bonds traded. The bond “TPCI 5.99% 2015-2025” with 3 155 bonds for XOF 30 920 000 was the most liquid, representing 77.71% of the total value traded.
