  • Equity market Summary

 Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) maintain a positive performance (w/w). By the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index increased by 1.02% at 234.75 points. However, in overall since the start of the year, it is still down by 1.44%. The BRVM 10 index decreased by 0.41% at 210.04 points. Also recording a negative annual performance so far at 2.36%.  The market total volume of shares traded this week was at 3.271 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 1 899 828 shares against 543 817 shares last week.

The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 23 gainers and 16 laggards. At the sector level, Petroleum & Gas index once again was the best performer, surging by 16,07% at 76.11 points. However, Textile index acknowledged the most significant drop (-3.64%) at 126.28 points.

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

VIVO ENERGY (+42.50%), shows the most substantial rise to close at XOF 1 425 and continue to confirm its good shape. SMB CI gained +15.25% at XOF 13 600. The stock CFAO CI (XOF 660) recorded +14.78% with a gain of XOF 85 compared to the last week. With a price of XOF 3 200, BOA SN has boosted the Banking & Finance sector index (+ 0.85%). SOGB CI closes this bullish list with a 12.64% growth for a price of XOF 5 570. 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

ETI fell further this week by 5.26% to end at XOF 18.  MOVIS CI begins this month by leaving 4.76% to stand at XOF 3 000. UNIWAX CI has crumbled by 3.64%, draining then 19 165 230 of his capital to close at XOF 3 430. SERVAIR ABIDJAN CI breaks its upward cycle seen in recent weeks, closing at XOF 1 745 for a decrease of 3.06% compared to last Friday. Finally, SAFCA lost 3.00% to established at XOF 9 700.

  • Bond Market Summary                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  The bond market ended the week with a decrease of 0.05% at XOF 2 938.02 billion against XOF 2 939.35 billion last week. This down is mainly explained by the partial capital reimbursement of the bond “SHELTER AFRIQUE 6.60% 2014-2021”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 223 112 900 for 29 400 bonds traded. The bond “ETAT SENEGAL 6.50% 2014-2021” with 25 525 bonds for XOF 203 896 000 was the most liquid, representing 91.39% of the total value traded.
