  • Equity market Summary                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) end the week with a negative performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index decreased by 1.67% at 172.34 points recording a negative annual performance so far at 27.65%. The BRVM 10 index is drop by -1.96% at 166.31 points but in overall still down by 22.69% from the start of the year. The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 941 226 246. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 1 233 897 shares against 842 924 shares last week.

The market breadth was negative (w/w) with 12 gainers and 24 decliners. At the sector level, Edition Publication index was the best performer, growing by 20.69% at 133.06 points and the Automotive Suppliers index knew the strongest drop (-6.24%) at 15.67 points. 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by: 

CFAO CI (-12.10%) which show the most substantial drop of the week, it’s recorded at XOF 545. This week TOTAL CI (-10.00%) saw its value stand at XOF 1 440. The stock remains in negative trend. At this trading session, NSIA BANQUE CI decrease from XOF 6 840 to XOF 6 290, inducing a drop of 8.04%. SMB CI fell by 7.69% to close at XOF 16 800. Finally, UNILEVER CI (XOF 6 985) decreased by 7.48% inducing the bad performance of Food & Beverage index which lost 0.98 point. 

The best performances of the week were recorded by: 

NEI CEDA (+20.69%) shows the strongest increase with a closing price of XOF 175. At this trading session, BICICI (XOF 4 300) with an increase of 13.31%. Recording a second consecutive week of growth, SODECI (XOF 3 700) for a rise of 11.54%, seems begin a good trend. This Friday, SODECI grew by 7.25% to reach XOF 3 700. SAPH increase by 3.45% to stand at XOF 3 000. At the end of this trading session, CIE (+ 3.33%) up from XOF 1 500 to XOF 1 550. 

  • Bond Market Summary

The bond market ended this week with a decrease of 0.03% at XOF 3 333.28 billion against XOF 3 334.18 billion last week. The reason for this down is the loss of XOF 55 on the price of the bond “TPBJ 6.50% 2017-2027” and XOF 398 on the price of the bond “CRRH-UEMOA 5.95% 2017-2029”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 198 195 862 for 19 836 bonds traded. The bond namely “TPBF 6.5% 2013-2020” with 18 194 bonds for XOF 181 940 000 was the most liquid, representing 91.72% of the total value traded.
