  • Equity market Summary

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) end the week with a good performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index up by 1.64% at 169.69 points. It annual performance is slightly reduced by 28.76% to reach P/E of 11.01 and an average liquidity ratio of 26.25%.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 2.53 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 2 325 997 shares against 869 028 shares last week. The market breadth was negative (w/w) with 22 gainers against 16 decliners and 7 shares unchanged. At the sector level, “Tobacco” was the best performer, growing by 21.76% at 22.43 points and the “Edition Publication index” knew the strongest drop (-20.69%) at 174.88 points.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SERVAIR ABIDJAN CI (+24.75%) shows the strongest increase with a closing price of XOF 1 235. At this trading session, SITAB CI grow this week to 21.76% to stand at XOF 1 595. BOA CI (XOF 3 000) and BOA BURKINA-FASO (XOF 3 330) respectively recording an up of 21.21% and 18.72%. At the end of this trading session, CFAO CI increase from 16.83% to stand at XOF 590.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

NEI CEDA which show the most substantial drop of the week (-20.69%) to XOF 230, doesn’t confirm the performance achieved the previous week. CIE CI recorded a second consecutive week in the red, with a 12.07% drop to XOF 1 275. At this trading session, VIVO ENERGY CI loses 10.53% to stand at XOF 850 and SODECI fell by 7.95% to close at XOF 3 590. Finally, TOTAL CI (XOF 1 065) decreased by 7.39% inducing the bad performance of Oil & Gas index which lost 2.46 point.

 

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended this week with an increase of 6.90% at XOF 3 516.53 billion against XOF 3 289.29 billion last week. The reason for this up is the first listing of the bond “TPCI 6.00% 2018-2026”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 1.822 billion for 183 332 bonds traded. The bonds called “TPCI 5.99% 2015-2025” and “TPCI 6.00% 2016-2028” with respectively 135 000 bonds for XOF 1.350 billion and 39 000 bonds for XOF 384.735 million, were the most liquid, representing 74.09% and 21.11% of the total value traded.
