Market Commentaries
Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) end the week with a bad performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index down by 1.93% at 166.09 points. It annual performance is mitigated by 3.29% to reach P/E of 10.96.
The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1.965 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 807 567 shares against 545 743 shares last week. The market breadth was negative (w/w) with 27 decliners against 8 gainers and 10 shares unchanged.
At the sector level, “Edition Publication” was the best performer, growing by 16.28% at 190.08 points and the “Packaging” knew the strongest drop (-10.23%) at 26.83 points.
The worst performances of the week were recorded by:
BICICI (-13.46%) which show the most substantial drop of the week and BOA BF (-11.11%) stood at XOF 6 300 and XOF 4 000 respectively. This underperformance reduces the Banking & Finance Index which fell by 1.76 point. CROWN SIEM CI recorded a drop of 10.00% to XOF 315. BOA CI loses 8.68% to reach XOF 3 050. Finally, BOA MALI ends the week with a decline of 8.51% to XOF 2 150.
The best performances of the week were recorded by:
NEI CEDA CI (+16.28%) shows the strongest increase with a closing price of XOF 250. At this trading session, BOA NIGER grow to 3.91% to stand at XOF 3 725. ONATEL BF recording a growth of 3.75% to XOF 4 150, SICABLE CI stood at XOF 940 for a rise of 2.73%. Finally, ECOBANK CI with 1.95% up reached a price of XOF 9 925.
The bond market ended this week with an increase of 1.01% at XOF 3 461.347 billion against XOF 3 426.63 billion last week. The reason for this up is the first listing of the bond “SENELEC 6.50% 2018-2025”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 46.599 million for 4 758 bonds traded. The bonds called “STATE OF MALI 6.50% 2017-2024” and “TPTG 6.90% 2018-2023” with respectively 788 bonds for XOF 7.77 million and 631 bonds for XOF 6.25 million, were the most liquid, representing 16.67% and 13.42% of the total value traded.
