Equity market Summary

 

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) end the week with a bad performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index down by 0.57% at 165.14 points. It annual performance is reduced by 3.84% to reach P/E of 10.76.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 2.025 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 582 141 shares against 807 567 shares last week. The market breadth was negative (w/w) with 23 decliners against 13 gainers and 9 shares unchanged.

 

At the sector level, “Telecommunication” was the best performer, growing by 0.67% at 61.26 points and the “Edition Publication” knew the strongest drop (-14.00%) at 163.47 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

NEI CEDA CI which show the largest drop of the week    (-14.00%) to XOF 215. FILTISAC CI (-9.55%) decrease this Friday to stand at XOF 1 800. NESTLE CI (XOF 800) loses 9.09% and remaining in the negative cycle engaged since the start of year. CFAO CI (XOF 500) recorded a drop of 9.09%, inducing the low performance of the distribution index, which fell by 2.11%. BERNABE CI ends this downward ranking with a decline of 8.82% to XOF 3 100.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SUCRIVOIRE is at the top of the week's rankings. The stock gained 8.64% to XOF 880 for a total traded value of XOF 10.5 million. BICICI (XOF 6 640) and BOA CI (XOF 3 205) recorded a strong performance this Friday, with increases of 5.40% and 5.08% respectively. At this trading session, SMB CI grew by 3.59% to stand at XOF 19 890. SGB CI ends the week with an up of 3.45% to XOF 7 500.

 

Bond Market Summary

 

 

The bond market ended this week with an increase of 0.02% at XOF 3 462.065 billion against XOF 3 461.347 billion last week. The reason for this up is the gain of XOF 200 on the price of the bond “TPTG 6.90% 2018-2023”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 174.686 million for 17 674 bonds traded. The bond called “TPBJ 6.50% 2017-2027” with 15 675 bonds for XOF 155.155 million was the most liquid, representing 88.82% of the total value traded.
