  • Equity market Summary

 

This week, Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) returns to the growth (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index gained by 0.11% at 174.70 points. Also, its annual performance improved by 1.73% to reach P/E of 11.37.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 792.4 million. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 1 221 650 shares against 1 358 694 shares last week. The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 23 gainers against 12 decliners and 10 shares unchanged.

 

At the sector level, “Chemical” was the best performer, growing by 7.50% at 22.34 points and the “Packaging” knew the strongest drop (-9.48%) at 24.59 points.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

The Banking and Finance sector is at the top of the week's ranking. BOA SN (XOF1 880), NSIA BANQUE CI (XOF 3 965) and BOA MALI (XOF 2 355) recorded outbreaks of 13.94%, 10.14% and 9.79% respectively. The enthusiasm for this sector is induced by a series of publications of the 2018 results; Results increased with the announcement of attractive dividends. With a thrust of 7.50%, AIR LIQUIDE CI (430) boosted the performance of the Chemicals index, which gained +1.56 points in this trading session. Finally, SOGB CI seems start an upward trend, with a 5.56% increase to XOF 2 850.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

CROWN SIEM CI which show the largest drop of the week (-13.13%) to XOF 260. At this trading session, NESTLE CI (XOF 960) showed a loss of 8.13%. SOLIBRA CI decreased by 7.50% to stand at XOF 37 000. BERNABE CI recorded a drop of 6.79% to reach a price of XOF 2 195. FILTISAC CI (XOF 1 215), ends this downward ranking with a decline of 5.45%.

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended this week with an increase by 3.02% at XOF 3 584.18 billion against XOF 3 479.15 billion last week. The reason for this up is the first listing of the bond issue “ETAT DU MALI 6.50% 2018-2025”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 32.27 million for 3 286 bonds traded. The bond “TPCI 6.55% 2014-2022” with 1 400 bonds for XOF 13.999 million was the most liquid, representing 43.40% of the total value traded.
