Equity market Summary

This week, Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) doesn’t confirm his recovery observed the previous week (w/w). Indeed, BRVM Composite index dropped by 0.24% at 174.28 points. Also, its annual performance improved by 1.48% to reach P/E of 11.59.

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 816.118 million. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 530 696 shares against 1 221 650 shares last week. The market breadth was positive (w/w) with 21 decliners against 19 gainers and 5 shares unchanged.

At the sector level, “Textile” was the best performer, growing by 23.99% at 87.88 points and the “Edition Publication” knew the strongest drop (-12.90%) at 307.94 points.

SOGB CI which show the largest drop of the week (-15.61%) to XOF 2 405. At this trading session, NEI CEDA CI (XOF 405) showed a loss of 12.90%. AIR LIQUIDE CI decreased by 10.47% to stand at              XOF 385. BOLLORE TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS CI recorded a drop of 9.81% to reach a price of XOF 1 700. BOA SENEGAL (XOF 1 750), ends this downward ranking with a decline of 6.91%.

With an outbreak of 23.99%, UNIWAX CI (XOF 2 300) shows the strongest performance of the week. The boost of the Banking and Finance sector (+2.83%) have induced by BOA MALI (XOF 2 700), SAFCA CI (XOF 230) and SIB CI (XOF 2 700) which recorded grew of 14.65%, 12.20% and 10.20% respectively. After several mitigated weeks, FILTISAC CI ends this ranking with a gain of 8.64% for a closing price of XOF 1 320.

 

Bond Market Summary

The bond market ended this week with a decreased by 0.86% at XOF 3 553.52 billion against XOF 3 584.18 billion last week. The reason for this down is the loss of XOF 10 on the price of the bond issue “TPBJ 6.50% 2017-2027”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 3.48 billion for 348 193 bonds traded. The bond “ETAT SENEGAL 6.30% 2015-2025” with 310 095 bonds for XOF 3.114 billion was the most liquid, representing 89.51% of the total value traded.
