Equity market Summary

This week, the stock market recorded the first listing of ORAGROUP S.A. (symbol: ORGT). Its admission to the increased market capitalization (+5.51%). Nevertheless, most stocks recorded mixed performances with a BRVM Composite index that fell 0.32% to 173.73 with a PER of 12.08.

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1.799 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 744 689 shares against 530 696 shares last week. The market breadth was mitigate (w/w) with 14 gainers as well as decliners and 10 shares unchanged. At the sector level, “Tobacco” was the best performer, growing by 14.42% at 17.29 points and the “Agro-processing” knew the strongest drop (-8.98%) at 37.89 points.

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

SOGB CI which show the largest drop of the week (-12.68%) to XOF 2 100. At this trading session, BERNABE CI (XOF 1 950) showed a loss of 10.76%. NEI CEDA CI decreased by 8.64% to stand at  XOF 370. PALM CI recorded a drop of 7.14% to reach a price of XOF 1 300. BICICI (XOF 4 500), ends this downward ranking with a decline of 6.25%.

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

CROWN SIEM CI which recorded a strong rise of +20.00% for a closing price of XOF 300. Compared to the previous Friday, SITAB CI (+14.42%) evolved from XOF 1 075 to XOF 1 230. This Friday, ECOBANK CI (XOF 3 600) return’s on the growth with an increase of 12.68%. With a thrust of 8.70%, UNIWAX CI  (XOF 2 500) boosted the performance of the Textile index, which gained +7.65 points in this trading session. Finally, BOA BURKINA FASO seems start an upward trend, with an 8.33% up to XOF 5 200.

Bond Market Summary

The bond market ended this week with a decrease by 0.07% at XOF 3 550.98 billion against XOF 3 553.52 billion last week. The reason for this down is the loss of XOF 200 on the price of the bond issue “TPCI 5.99% 2015-2025”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 3.54 billion for 354 257 bonds traded. The bond “ETAT SENEGAL 6.30% 2015-2025” with 350 040 bonds for XOF 3.514 million was the most liquid, representing 99.33% of the total value traded.
