Equity market Summary

The market breadth was mitigate (w/w) with 24 decliners, 12 gainers and 9 shares unchanged. At the sector level, “Infrastructure” was the best performer, growing by 6.80% at 39.86 points and the “Tobacco” knew the strongest drop (-7.69%) at 16.87 points.

The poor performance (-5.18%) of the share mainly led the deterioration observed on the Banking & Finance Index. At this trading session, SOLIBRA CI fell by 13.89% to XOF 31 700. Other bank securities in the red, BOA NIGER (XOF 3 780) and BOA CI (XOF 3 045) stocks, declined by 10.00% and 9.91% respectively. Finally, CFAO CI, which doesn’t confirm the strong rise observed the last week, show a value of XOF 580 for 9.48% drop.

SMB CI recorded a strong rise of +11.11% for a closing price of XOF 5 000. At this trading session, CIE CI (XOF 1 385) recorded an up of 10.85%. In a positive trend for three weeks now, SAFCA CI increased by 5.77% to close at XOF 275. With a transaction volume of 1 005 shares, SAPH CI (XOF 2 300) evolved by 5.77%. To end this upward ranking, FILTISAC CI, reached XOF 1 425 for an improvement of 5.56%.
Bond Market Summary
The bond market ended this week with a decrease by 0.34% at XOF 3 649.43 billion against XOF 3 662.05 billion last week. This down is mainly due to the loss of XOF 50 on the price of the bond issue “TPCI 5.90% 2016-2026 – TPCI 22”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 921.92 million for 93 053 bonds traded. The bond “TPCI 5.95% 2017-2024 A” with 49 000 bonds for XOF 487.55 million was the most liquid, representing 52.88% of the total value traded.
