Equity market Summary

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) end the week with a bad performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index down by 0.98% at 158.81 points and it annual performance is remains mitigated by 7.52% to reach P/E of 8.62.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1.128 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 1 808 454 shares against 460 734 shares last week. The market breadth was descending (w/w) with 21 decliners, 12 gainers and 13 shares unchanged. At the sector level, “Tobacco” was the best performer, growing by 7.21% at 16.73 points and the “Packaging” knew the strongest drop (-4.17%) at 26.83 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

BOA MALI showed the largest drop of the week (-11.59%) to XOF 1 945. The deterioration observed on CROWN SIEM CI (-8.16%), has induced the bad performance recorded by the Packaging Index. This Friday, BOLLORE (-6.55%) remains in a negative trend and close at XOF 1 570. At this trading session, SERVAIR ABIDJAN CI fell by 5.71% to stand at XOF    1 320. Finally, ETI declined by 5.56% for a closing price of XOF 17.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

SITAB CI recorded a strong rise of +7.21% for a closing price of XOF 1 190. With a transaction volume of 8 962 shares, SAFCA CI (XOF 300) and BOA SENEGAL (XOF 1 700) recorded an up of 7.14% and 6.25% respectively. The stock SMB CI evolved by 4.19% to show a price of XOF 4 480. To end, SOGB CI, reached XOF 2 100 for an improvement of 3.96%.

 

Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended this week with a decrease by 1.26% at XOF 3 570.45 billion against XOF 3 614.06 billion last week. This down is mainly due to the partial reimbursement of the bond issue “TPCI.18 - TPCI 5.85% 2014-2021”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 5.11 billion for 511 219 bonds traded. The bond “EOS.07 – ETAT SENEGAL 6.30% 2015-2025” with 310 049 bonds for XOF 3.11 billion was the most liquid, representing 60.85% of the total value traded
