Market Commentaries

 

  • Equity market Summary

 

Market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) end the week with a bad performance (w/w). At the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index down by 0.63% at 156.79 points and it annual performance is remains mitigated by 8.70% to reach P/E of 8.53.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 1.613 billion. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 311 672 shares against 1 363 560 shares last week. The market breadth was descending (w/w) with 20 decliners, 9 gainers and 17 shares unchanged. At the sector level, “Packaging” was the best performer, growing by 1.95% at 23.54 points and the “Edition Publication” knew the strongest drop (-6.78%) at 209.09 points.

 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

 

PALM CI showed the largest drop of the week (-13.54%) to XOF 990. The deterioration observed on BICICI          (-7.56%), has induced the bad performance recorded by the Banking & Finance Index. This Friday, SAPH CI       (-7.21%) remains in a negative trend and close at XOF      1 995. At this trading session, SERVAIR ABIDJAN CI fell by 6.88% to stand at XOF 1 150. Finally, NEI CEDA CI declined by 6.78% for a closing price of XOF 275.

 

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

 

SAFCA CI recorded a strong rise of +21.67% for a closing price of XOF 365. At this trading session, ETI reached XOF 17 for a 6.25% growth. With a transaction value of 5 059 175 shares, SMB CI (XOF 4 500) recorded an up of 5.76%. The stock FILTISAC CI evolved by 3.94% to show a price of XOF 1 450. To end, NESTLE CI reached XOF 735 for an improvement of 2.80%.

 

  • Bond Market Summary

 

The bond market ended this week with a decrease by 0.35% at XOF 3 697.26 billion against XOF 3 710.34 billion last week. This down is mainly due to the partial reimbursement of the capital of the bond “CRRH-UEMOA 5.85% 2016-2026”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 18.32 million for 1 851 bonds traded. The bonds “TPBJ 6.50% 2018-2025” with 418 bonds for XOF 4.18 million and “TPTG 6.90% 2018-2025” with 234 bonds for XOF 2.33 million were the most liquid, representing 22.81% and 12,69% respectively of the total value traded.
