  • Equity market Summary

 

This week, market indexes (BRVM Composite & BRVM 10) are recorded a bad performance (w/w). Indeed, at the end of this week’s session, BRVM Composite index lost 0.89% to stand at 155.68 points. Also, its annual performance is remains low at 9.35% when the P/E reached 10.16.

 

The total market value of shares traded this week was at XOF 915.955 million. Moreover, this week’s volume traded was 490 782 shares against 830 649 shares last week. The market breadth was descending (w/w) with 17 decliners, 19 gainers and 10 shares unchanged. At the sector level, “Textile” was the best performer, growing by 7.00% at 81.77 points and the “Agro-processing” knew the strongest drop (-1.70%) at 29.78 points. 

The worst performances of the week were recorded by:

ETI showed the largest drop of the week (-10.53%) to XOF 17. In decline since the beginning of July, UNILEVER CI (-7.41%) closed at XOF 3 500. At this trading session, BOA MALI fell by 5.81% to stand at XOF 2 025. The deterioration (-3.60%) observed on SUCRIVOIRE CI (XOF 670), has induced the low performance recorded by the Agro-processing Index which decline by 0.51 points. Finally, with decreasing by 3.23%, SGBCI (XOF 9 000) does not confirm the recovery showed last week.

The best performances of the week were recorded by:

BOLLORE CI recorded a boost of 9.96% for a closing price of XOF 1 490. With a second consecutive week of growth, CIE CI (+7.69%) seems begin an upward phase. At this trading session, CROWN SIEM CI reached XOF 2 140 for a 7.50% increase. UNIWAX CI (XOF 2 140) with a transaction total value of XOF 21 769 020, showed an up of 7.00%. Finally, SAFCA CI reached XOF 540 for an improvement of 6.93%.

 

  • Bond Market Summary

The bond market ended this week with an increase by 0.06% at XOF 3 697.86 billion against XOF 3 695.58 billion last week. This up is mainly due to the gain of XOF 125 on the price of the bond “TPCI 6% 2018-2026”. The total value traded on the market amounts to XOF 139.01 million for 13 901 bonds traded. The bond “TPCI 6.55% 2014-2022” with 13 419 bonds for XOF 134.19 million was the most liquid, representing 95.53% of the total value traded.
